Ro-Ro quotations by ocean, rail and truck. LCL & Air Freight Quotation FormPlease use this form for Air Freight & Less than Container Container DefinitionsBreak-Bulk - is generally oversized cargo that is shipped as a complete unit by air, ocean, rail & road, but due to size cannot be containerized (e.g. Construction equipment). Full Container Load (FCL) - is a shipment of cargo where shipper has exclusive use of ocean, rail, or truck container. FCL freight is loaded and sealed in a container at the shipper's warehouse and transported by ocean, rail and/or truck directly to the point of final destination. Less than Container Load (LCL) - is a shipment of cargo that does not fill an entire container. LCL shipments may be shipped with freight from more than one shipper to the same destination as a full container load, where it is usually de-stuffed at the overseas warehouse for delivery. Consolidating LCL freight is generally advantageous for air, ocean, and truck loads, as it enables the cargo to be transported within a protective shipping container, eliminating many problems encountered by loose freight, while reducing the overall freight costs to the LCL shipper to do the same. Roll on, Roll off (Ro-Ro) - is cargo that is not in a container, but instead is loaded, transported and discharged on wheels. Ro-Ro freight may include oversized goods that are shipped on a flat-bed (e.g. Machinery) or is cargo that can be rolled on and off its transport (e.g. Automobiles).
